"description": "Guam Life is the island's magazine, events guide and weather, in one free app — made on Guam, for Guam.\n\nTHE MAGAZINE\nA new issue every month: stories about the island, its places and its people, written here. Read the cover story on the front page, or browse the whole issue by department.\n\nWHAT'S ON\nNight markets, village fiestas, live music — everything happening across the island, sorted by day. Filter for this week, the weekend, or free events only. Weekly and monthly fixtures appear on every date they run, so nothing regular slips past.\n\nWEATHER FOR YOUR VILLAGE\nCurrent conditions, the hourly and seven-day forecast, feels-like temperature, UV and heat stress for where you are — or for any village you choose, so you can keep an eye on home from off-island.\n\nALERTS, IN PLAIN SIGHT\nWhen the National Weather Service issues a flood watch, a high surf advisory or any other alert for Guam, it appears at the top of the front page. One tap opens it in full: what it is, where and when it applies, and what to do.\n\nA WIDGET FOR YOUR HOME SCREEN\nThe Weather Brief widget shows the temperature, the day's high and low, and any alert in effect — and the Condition of Readiness whenever it is raised.\n\nWHEN A STORM COMES\nGuam Life changes with the weather. When the Condition of Readiness is raised or a typhoon warning is issued, the front page becomes storm information: the COR and what it means, the storm's position and movement, official updates, and an Emergency tab with emergency hotlines, the COR guide, a preparation checklist, and a flashlight and SOS signal that work with no connection. You get a notification when the COR changes, a warning is issued or an official update comes out. And every ad switches off until the storm has passed.\n\nFREE, AND PAID FOR BY LOCAL BUSINESSES\nGuam Life is free because local businesses advertise in it. Ads are booked directly with those businesses — there are no ad networks, no tracking, and no accounts.\n\nGuam Life is not an official emergency information source. During a storm, always follow Guam Homeland Security / Office of Civil Defense and the National Weather Service.",
