"description": "Selectah reads a folder of music the way a DJ reads a crate.\n\nIt measures the tempo, musical key, energy and genre of every file, shows you\nwhich tracks mix together and why, and lays out exactly how it would sort them\n— before it touches a single file.\n\nWHAT IT READS\n\nTempo, to a tenth of a BPM. Musical key on the Camelot wheel every DJ already\nreads. A 1-10 energy rating. And the genre, from the tag when there is one.\n\nWhen a file already carries a tempo and key from Rekordbox, Serato, Mixed In\nKey or Beatport, Selectah believes them and does not re-analyse. That turns a\nre-scan of a tagged crate from minutes into seconds. When a file has none, it\nlistens to the audio and works them out.\n\nWHAT MIXES WITH WHAT\n\nPick a track and Selectah ranks the rest of the crate against it, on the wheel\nand on tempo, and tells you why each one works: same key, wheel neighbour,\nrelative major, the energy boost. Click any of them to hear it.\n\nELEVEN WAYS TO LAY OUT A CRATE\n\nBy genre family, subgenre, tempo, key, energy, year or artist. By genre and\ntempo together, or genre and key. As mixable sets, where Selectah walks the\ncrate looking for runs in which each record leads into the next. Or as one\nlong set.\n\nNOTHING IS WRITTEN UNTIL YOU SAY SO\n\nEvery arrangement is a preview first: the folders it would make, and what would\nland in each one. Close it and nothing has changed on disk.\n\nIT WILL NOT LOSE YOUR MUSIC\n\nThe default arrangement makes links, which take no disk space and leave every\nfile where it is. Copy duplicates them. Move relocates them, and Undo reverses\neven that — every run is written down. When two tracks would land on the same\nname, Selectah renames rather than replace. Nothing is deleted, ever.\n\nEach folder also gets an .m3u8 playlist carrying the tempo and key of every\ntrack in it.\n\nIT STAYS ON YOUR MAC\n\nNo account, no upload, no analytics, no licence server. Selectah makes no\noutbound network connection at all. Nothing about your library leaves the\nmachine.\n\nFORMATS\n\nmp3, m4a, aac, alac, wav, aiff and flac — everything CoreAudio reads.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\n\nApple Silicon. macOS 12 Monterey or newer.",
