"description": "You open Safari to check one thing. Twenty minutes later you are still thumbing through Shorts you will not remember tomorrow. That is not weak willpower. The feed is built to catch you. Shorty takes the bait off the hook.\n\nShorty is a Safari extension that kills short-form video before it can start.\n\nYouTube\nTap a Shorts link and Shorty drops you on the normal video player instead. Shorts shelves, the Shorts button in the menu, and Shorts mixed into your feed and search all disappear.\n\nInstagram and Facebook\nReels are hidden. On Instagram, a reel link takes you back to your normal page instead of the vertical scroll.\n\nTikTok\nThe For You feed is covered with a calm screen. You can step through if you really mean to, but the autoplay reel never grabs you first.\n\nX\nThe video tab and video discovery are pulled out of the way.\n\nYou stay in control\nEvery site has its own switch, plus one master switch, in a single tap from the toolbar. Turn off the ones you want, keep the rest. A counter shows how many shorts Shorty has blocked for you, which is oddly satisfying once the number climbs.\n\nPay once\nShorty is a one-time purchase. No subscription, no account, no sign in. It does not watch what you browse, it sends nothing anywhere, and it has no analytics. The only permission it asks for is local storage to remember your switches.\n\nWorks in Safari on iPhone, iPad and Mac.\n\nGet your attention back. Short-form video can wait, probably forever.",
