People who grew up hearing it and cannot yet read Devanagari. People who want to know what each line says in English. Anyone learning it with a parent or grandparent, one verse at a time.\n\nAbout the Text\nThe Hanuman Chalisa is attributed to the poet Tulsidas, who wrote it in the sixteenth century in an old form of Hindi. \"Chalisa\" comes from chalis, the Hindi word for forty. The Hindi spelling was reconciled against several published editions. The English was written for this app: plain and short, not a scholar's commentary. This is a devotional text, not medical advice, and the app does not promise any result from reciting it.\n\nThis is an independent reader.
