"description": "Tempo is a stopwatch, a timer and an alarm that tell you the time out loud.\n\nStart something, put the phone down, and a voice tells you how long you have been going — every minute, every five, at the quarter marks, or whenever you decide. No looking at a screen, no working out the arithmetic, no realising an hour later that it was an hour.\n\nIt is built for anyone who loses track of time while they are concentrating, and for the days when a silent number on a screen is not enough to break through.\n\nWHAT IT DOES\n\n• Stopwatch — counts up, and says the elapsed time at your interval.\n• Timer — counts down to a length you set, tells you when you reach it, and keeps going into overrun instead of just stopping.\n• Alarm — a single spoken callout at a time you choose.\n• Up to four at once. Name them, and it says the name so you know which one just spoke.\n\nIT KEEPS TALKING\n\nLock the phone, switch apps, put it in your pocket. Tempo carries on announcing. Music ducks for each announcement and comes straight back rather than stopping.\n\nON YOUR WRIST\n\nThe Apple Watch app runs the same sessions. Start on either device and both stay in step — one speaks, both tap. Drop your wrist and the haptics keep coming.\n\nON THE HOME SCREEN\n\nA widget shows what is running and counts on its own. Start, pause and stop from it without opening the app, and when nothing is running it offers your recent sessions as one-tap starts. Live Activities put the same thing on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.\n\nTHE WORDING\n\nEvery line is written to be told the time, not told off. \"Ten minutes on invoices.\" Never \"you should have finished by now.\" The phrasing rotates so it does not become wallpaper you stop hearing.\n\nPRIVATE BY DEFAULT\n\nTempo has no account, no sign-in and no network code at all. Nothing you type or run leaves your devices. There is nothing to opt out of.",
