"description": "You met someone at a conference. They recommended a book. The book gave you an idea. The idea became a project. The project serves a goal you've had for years.\n\nRight now those five things live in five apps that have never heard of each other. Terrella is one place where they're connected.\n\nA LITTLE MODEL OF YOUR WORLD\n\nIn 1600, William Gilbert built a Terrella, a \"little Earth.\" It was a small magnetized sphere he could hold in his hand and turn in order to understand how the real one pulled on itself. That's the idea here. Terrella is a small working model of your world: who is in it, what you've read, what you're building, and how all of it pulls on everything else.\n\nONE PLACE FOR THE THINGS THAT MATTER\n\nPeople, organizations and places. Books, ideas and topics. Projects, goals, decisions and skills. Notes and the conversations you had. Twelve kinds of things, in one searchable file instead of twelve different apps.\n\nRELATIONSHIPS THAT READ BOTH WAYS\n\nRecord once that someone works at a company, and her page says \"works at\" while the company's page says \"employs\". Every connection you make is visible from both ends, so nothing you write down is only findable if you remember where you put it.\n\nFIND WHAT YOU COULDN'T FIND BEFORE\n\nWho else do I know at this company? What came to me through this person? How am I connected to her? Why am I doing this project? Terrella answers questions a folder of notes can't: typed relationship sections, backlinks, two-hop discovery, and the connection path between any two things.\n\nSTART FROM YOUR CONTACTS\n\nImport your address book and a contact doesn't land as a flat record — it becomes a person, the organization they work for, and the link between them, so colleagues are discoverable through each other from the first minute. Imports fill in blanks only. A correction you made is never overwritten, and an import can always be removed again.\n\nBUILT SO YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND\n\nA contact saved as a business can be changed into one, keeping its history. Two entries for the same person can be merged. Both tell you exactly what will change before you commit, and neither throws anything away quietly. A job you left becomes history with an end date, not a deletion.\n\nFAST TO CAPTURE\n\nCommand-N for anything new, Command-K to jump to anything you've got. Keyboard all the way down.\n\nYOUR DATA STAYS YOURS\n\nOne SQLite file on your Mac. No account, no cloud, no sync server, nothing collected. The app works with the network off. Rolling backups are taken automatically and kept, and you can export your entire graph as readable JSON any time. It's your life; you should be able to open it in a text editor.\n\nFree. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no account.",
