In short

Arkad: Budget & Debts is a finance app built around the "pay yourself first" idea from The Richest Man in Babylon, calculating a tenth of logged income before other spending. It lets users log expenses by tapping, photographing receipts, or importing bank CSV files, and shows each loan's amortization schedule with a payoff date. Data stays on the device, with optional private iCloud sync and no analytics or ads.

About

Arkad turns the classic advice from "The Richest Man in Babylon" into an app: pay yourself first — set aside a tenth of everything you earn before you spend on anything else.

YOUR TENTH, ALWAYS IN VIEW The moment you log income, Arkad works out your tenth — the part you keep before the rest slips away on expenses. You see it on the home screen, in the widget, and on a shareable monthly summary card.

LOGGING TAKES SECONDS Add an expense in a couple of taps, or just photograph the receipt: Arkad reads the amount, merchant, and date with your device's camera and suggests a category. Import your bank's CSV statement whenever you want to load whole months at once — columns pre-mapped, duplicates already flagged.

WHAT'S COMING, BEFORE IT ARRIVES Fixed bills and savings goals show up on your financial-month calendar, not as a surprise on the day they're due. Arkad flags what's ahead so you can plan for it, not react to it.

DEBT WITH A VISIBLE END DATE Every loan shows its real amortization schedule: how much goes to interest, how much to principal, and the exact date it's paid off. No fine print, no surprises.

YOUR DATA IS YOURS Arkad has no server of its own. Your transactions live on your device, and if you use iCloud, they sync through your own private database — nobody else can see them, not even us. No analytics, no ads, no profiling. Export your data as CSV or as a full JSON copy whenever you like, and delete it completely whenever you like: it's yours.

ON EVERY SCREEN YOU OWN Arkad is a native app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, with Swift Charts, widgets that show your tenth and your next bill right on the Home Screen, and Siri Shortcuts for logging an expense without opening the app.

BUILT TO BE READ Careful typography, contrast, and accessibility: Arkad works with VoiceOver, Larger Text, and Reduce Motion, because a money app has to work for everyone.

PRICING $6.99/year, no monthly plan, with the first year free. Without a subscription, Arkad stays in read-only mode: you can see all your data and charts, and export them any time — only logging, importing, and restoring a backup require it.

Arkad uses its own paraphrasing and short quotes translated from George S. Clason's original 1926 book, with attribution.
