Ascendance is your family's genealogy tree, built together and reserved for its members. Parents, cousins, uncles and aunts add what they know; the app arranges the generations, links couples to their children and untangles the branches so they never cross.
A TREE THAT ARRANGES ITSELF • Add a parent, a partner, a child, a brother or a sister: each generation finds its place. • Four display styles: classic, illustrated tree, horizontal and compact. • Tap a person to highlight their line, pinch to zoom in on a branch.
EVERYONE KNOWS WHO THEY ARE TO EACH OTHER • Each entry tells your relationship to the person: “great-grandfather”, “first cousin”, “half-brother”, “sister-in-law”… • Sosa numbers start from you, and ancestors reached through several lines are flagged.
THE ANCESTOR WHEEL • Your ancestors over three to eight generations, as a wheel or a fan, one colour per grandparent. • The share of ancestors found in each generation, and a “?” box to add the one who is missing.
THE MAP OF PLACES • Where your ancestors were born, married and died, place by place, and the journey of each life. • Filter by period or by type of event; place a village the map cannot find with a tap.
AN ENTRY FOR EVERY LIFE • Dates and places of birth, union and death, occupation, photo. • The life course: baptism, education, military service, moves, emigration… • Notes and sources laid out clearly: reliability, points to check, links to archives.
YOUR FAMILY, NOT A SOCIAL NETWORK • The tree is only visible to the members the family's administrator accepts. • Everyone has a role: viewer, editor or administrator. • No advertising, no resale of data. • Sign in with Apple or Google, no password to remember.
IN FIVE LANGUAGES English, French, Spanish, Italian and German: the app follows your device's language, and everyone in the family reads the tree in their own.
ON IPHONE, IPAD, MAC AND THE WEB The tree is the same everywhere. On the web you can also import and export a GEDCOM file (Geneanet, Heredis, Gramps…), find duplicates, see the timeline and print the tree as a PDF.
To join a family, just be invited by its administrator. To start your own family's tree, create it in the app: it is free and immediate.
