In short

Beid is a lifestyle app that records proof of attendance at events. Phones nearby exchange anonymous, signed Bluetooth confirmations, and enough of them build a record in your collection. It stands out because the record comes from other attendees' observations rather than an organizer's ticket, and no name, profile, or sign-up is needed.

About

Beid records that you were actually at an event, without asking who you are.

When you are at an event, other people running beid are nearby. Their phones and yours notice each other over Bluetooth and confirm, to each other, that you were both in the same place at the same time. Out of enough of those mutual confirmations, beid builds a record of your attendance and keeps it in your collection.

What makes this different from scanning a ticket is that nobody has to be trusted. A ticket says an organizer believes you showed up. A beid record says the other people who were there observed you, and each observation is signed. You do not have to take anyone's word for it, including ours.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Open beid at an event. It finds the event on its own over Bluetooth, or you can enter a code the organizer gives you. 2. Leave it running. beid quietly notices the people around you and they notice you. There is nothing to tap. 3. Your record appears in your collection when enough mutual observations have accumulated.

WHAT OTHER PEOPLE SEE

Not your name, not your phone, not an account. Devices exchange identifiers that change constantly and cannot be tied back to a person or followed between events. There is no profile, no username, and no sign-up.

YOU DO NOT NEED A WALLET

beid can optionally connect a crypto wallet, so that a record can be tied to a key you control rather than to a device that might be replaced. That is entirely optional. You can join an event with a code and collect records without ever connecting a wallet. beid does not sell anything, does not hold funds, and does not move funds.

WHAT YOU NEED

Bluetooth switched on, and other people at the event who are also running beid. beid cannot record an event on its own, because the whole idea is that somebody else saw you there.
