Blackletter: Read with Friends

Blackletter is a private place for you and your friends to keep track of what you read, rank it and talk about it.

It's invite-only: you join with a link from a friend who's already in, so everyone you see is someone you know.

RANK EVERY BOOK When you finish a book, say whether you loved it, thought it was fine or didn't like it. Blackletter asks a few quick "which did you like more?" questions and places it in your rankings, so every book gets a score from 0 to 10 that actually means something. Fiction and nonfiction get separate lists.

SEE WHAT FRIENDS THINK Every book page shows your friends' scores and how closely your taste matches each of them, plus an anonymous average across the club. Compare rankings with any friend to see where you agree, and which books they loved that you haven't read.

KEEP YOUR READING LIFE • Shelves for what you want to read, are reading and have finished, plus books you didn't finish • Progress by page or percent, start and finish dates, and rereads • Reviews with spoiler tags • Passages you love, typed or scanned from the page with your camera • Lists, a yearly reading goal and a look back at your year • A Home Screen widget for what you're reading now • Import your Goodreads library

TALK ABOUT IT Like and comment on friends' reviews, @mention people and recommend a book to a friend. Notifications cover comments, mentions, likes and friend requests, never a friend simply finishing a book.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads, no tracking and no algorithmic feed. Your friends see your reading; other members see only your name, photo and who invited you. Export everything or delete your account at any time.
