About

Nobody can out-think AI anymore. But you can out-think the people who let AI think for them.

You read a page, you know every word on it, and a minute later you can't say what it meant. Bookbench is built to fix that. Here the AI doesn't read for you. It helps you understand, and the understanding stays yours.

THE BOOK, A TUTOR AND A NOTEBOOK, SIDE BY SIDE Three screens on one canvas: the book in the middle, an AI tutor on one side, your notebook on the other. One swipe between them. No copying text into a chatbot, no switching apps, no losing your place.

A TUTOR THAT ALREADY KNOWS WHERE YOU ARE • It sees the book, the chapter and the page you are on • Type just "explain" and it knows what you mean • Explains a hard term, a dense sentence or a whole chapter in plain words • Answers from what is actually written in the book and quotes the lines: tap a quote to jump to that place • Marks the key points right in the text of the book • Reads your notebook: write down your own conclusion, and it can tell you what you missed

WORK THE TEXT, DON'T JUST GET THROUGH IT • Select a passage and add it to your notebook as a quote • Write down key ideas, definitions and the thoughts that come while you read • A real text editor: headings, lists, links, styles • Bookmarks that lead back to the exact spot in the book • The tutor adds to your notebook when you ask; you stay the one who edits it

A QUIET READER • EPUB and FB2 books from anywhere on your device • Font, size and background the way your eyes like them • Remembers where you stopped • Reading and notes work offline

MADE FOR Textbooks and courses, dense non-fiction, classics, books in a language you are still learning: anything worth reading slowly, with a pen in hand.

GOOD TO KNOW • EPUB and FB2 only: no PDF, no audiobooks • You bring your own books; Bookbench is not a store • The AI tutor needs an internet connection; the reader and the notebook do not

FREE AND SUBSCRIPTION Reading and the notebook are free, with no limits and no account. The AI tutor gives you 3 free answers; after that it comes with a 3-day free trial, then a monthly subscription. • Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase • The subscription renews monthly unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period • Manage or cancel it any time in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions • Any unused part of the free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription

PRIVACY Your books and your notebook are stored on your device. To answer, the tutor sends passages of the book, your questions, your reading goal and your notebook to DeepSeek, whose servers are in China. No account, name or email goes with them. The app asks your permission before the first question.
