BowlScore reads the label on any dog or cat food and gives it a clear score from 0 to 100, with the reasons in plain language.
HOW IT WORKS Point your camera at the ingredients list or scan the barcode. In a few seconds you see the score, the ingredients worth watching, the good stuff, and how the nutrition stacks up.
SCORED FOR YOUR PET Tell us about your pet once. BowlScore warns you when a food contains something your pet is allergic to, and checks protein and fat against what a puppy, kitten, adult or senior actually needs.
DOGS AND CATS ARE DIFFERENT Cats must eat meat, need more protein than dogs, and need taurine. Some ingredients that are legal in dog food are prohibited in cat food. BowlScore uses separate rules for each.
WET AND DRY, COMPARED FAIRLY A can is mostly water, so the numbers on the label look low. BowlScore removes the water first, the same way nutrition standards do, so canned food and kibble can be compared honestly.
A SCORE YOU CAN TRUST Every point comes from the label. Brands cannot pay for a score, and the same label always gets the same score. Our method and sources are public on our website.
