About

Screen time you don't have to feel guilty about.

Brainy Grid is graphic dictations and grid drawing that end up in a notebook, not on a screen. The app calls out the route, your child counts the squares and draws it with an ordinary pencil. The tablet is only the navigator.

Screen time that leaves something behind Most kids' apps keep the child on the glass: tap the right answer, collect the coins, watch the next video. Here the screen has one job — to give the instruction — and everything that matters happens on paper, with a pencil in hand. One quiet sitting, one finished drawing, and a hand that is a little more ready for school. No feeds, no autoplay, nothing to pull your child back for one more round.

How it works • Pick a mission: animals, dinosaurs, transport, fairy tales — across 8 themes and 4 difficulty levels. • The app dictates each step — three squares right, one diagonal up. • Photograph the finished drawing; the app reads it square by square, right on the device. • Get a report across four skills and one concrete thing to work on next.

Why paper, not glass • Paper pushes back. That friction trains the small muscles of the hand and settles the grip — a screen gives the hand nothing to work against. • Active thinking, not passive watching: your child holds the instruction in mind, counts the squares, picks the direction and moves the pencil. Nothing on the screen does that step for them. • Quiet focus: no timers, no loud rewards, no pop-ups. One task at a time, at whatever pace your child needs.

What it builds • Fine motor and pre-writing skills. • Spatial awareness and counting. • Visual-motor integration, attention, persistence.

School readiness you can actually see Every scanned dictation becomes a profile across four skills — accuracy, orientation, counting, persistence — so progress stops being a matter of opinion. It is also how you spot the early markers of future school difficulties: the quiet ones, between 4 and 7, while they are still easy to work on.

Quiet for parents • Works offline — on a plane, in the car, anywhere with no internet. • No ads, no banners, no reward videos. • Photos of drawings never leave the device. • An account is optional; purchases and settings sit behind a parental gate. • One app instead of a shelf of workbooks.

Brainy Grid is an educational product, not a medical device. For concerns about your child's development, talk to a professional.
