Capy Keeper: Keep Every Refund

Capy Keeper is an unofficial helper for Japan’s new tax-free refund system (from Nov 1, 2026). It does not pay refunds or handle any money — refunds are paid by the store or its refund operator after Customs confirms your export. This app helps you not lose them.

WHY IT MATTERS • Customs checks per receipt. If one item from a receipt is missing, none of that receipt is refunded. • You have 90 days from the purchase date. • At the airport, do the kiosk BEFORE checking in your bags.

WHAT IT DOES • Snap a receipt — we read the Japanese and list the items in your language • Packing checklist per receipt, so nothing gets left behind • 90-day countdown and reminders before your flight • Bought something for friends? Tag it, see it in their currency, and share the total by LINE, KakaoTalk or WeChat • Expected refund this trip (an estimate from the tax on your receipts; the actual amount is up to each store or refund operator, and fees may apply) • Airport mode: big, step-by-step, works offline • Track which receipts are confirmed and refunded, grouped by refund operator • Rules in plain language, each with official sources.
