Don't Wake the Cat: Focus

Flip your phone face down and the cat curls up for a nap. Leave the phone alone and you both get what you wanted: you focus, the cat sleeps. Pick it up too soon and the cat wakes up and gives you a look.

Don't Wake the Cat is a simple Pomodoro-style focus timer with a hand-drawn tabby who naps while you work, study, read or write.

HOW IT WORKS • Choose how long to focus, then turn your phone face down • The cat naps while the timer runs, screen off • Lift the phone and you get a few seconds to put it back before the cat wakes • Finish the nap and the cat stretches, pays you a compliment, and it's break time • Can't flip your phone? Flip-free mode starts with a button instead

COMPLIMENT CARDS Every finished nap ends on one of the cat's compliments, numbered and kept in your collection. There are 40 to find. Save or share any of them as a little card.

NAP SPOTS AND CAT NOTES The more you focus, the more places the cat finds to sleep: a cardboard box, a sunbeam on the rug, the bathroom sink, eventually your lap. Along the way the cat leaves you notes for milestones, 40 of those too.

BREAKS WITH THE CAT Short and long breaks on a cycle you set. During breaks the cat gets up to something: grooming, batting a string, chasing a bug.

SOUNDS Optional background sounds while you focus: purr, rain on the window, fireplace, cafe and brown noise.

ON YOUR LOCK SCREEN A Live Activity and Dynamic Island countdown, Home and Lock Screen widgets, and a chime when the nap ends.
