About

DotMarks is practice for the statutory checks children take at primary school in England. Each check gets its own pack, built on the same approach: levels that start friendly and end in the real format of the check, and a parent area that shows where a child stands, which facts need work, and why the questions they see keep coming up.

The first pack is the Year 4 multiplication tables check.

Four levels - Easy: tables 2, 5 and 10, 15 seconds a question, feedback after every answer with encouragement. - Medium: tables 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10, 10 seconds a question, feedback held for a shorter time. - Hard: every table from 2 to 12, 6 seconds a question, feedback shows the answer without encouragement. - Test Conditions: the check as it is on the day. 25 questions, 6 seconds each, no feedback, no sounds, the score at the end.

Facts a child gets wrong come round more often until they can get them right consistently. Every answer is recorded with whether it was right and how long it took. Badges mark rounds played, personal bests and streaks.

For parents A parent area behind a PIN shows each child's progress: a grid of every fact with how secure it is and how quickly it is answered, the facts that need work, and how each level is going. Parents can change the tables and the time per question at Easy, Medium and Hard. Test Conditions cannot be changed. Several children can share one device.

Nothing leaves the device No accounts, no adverts, no analytics, and the app does not use the network. Everything stays on the phone or tablet it was played on. A child's data can be deleted from the parent area.

One price You buy the app once. No in-app purchases, no unlocks, no subscription. Further packs for other Key Stage 2 checks will arrive as updates to the same app.
