About
Dots and Boxes, the pencil-and-paper game from 1889, with nothing in the way.
• No ads, ever. No purchases, no account. • Play a friend: two players take turns on one iPhone. • Or play the computer at Easy, Medium or Hard. Hard plays real chain strategy: it fights for control of the long chains and gives away two boxes on purpose when that wins more later. • Three boards: 3×3, 4×4 and 5×5 boxes. • Tap a gap or drag between two dots to draw a line. Close the fourth side of a box to claim it and draw again. Most boxes wins. • Every won box shows its owner's letter as well as their colour, so the board reads clearly for colour-blind players. Works with VoiceOver and Dark Mode. • Undo a move at any time; against the computer, undo takes back its reply too. • Works offline. Your games never leave your iPhone.
