About
duna turns speech into text as people talk. Put your iPhone or Mac nearby, tap (or click) the screen and read.
MADE FOR READING • Text rolls up line by line and holds still: words you have already read do not move. • Punctuation, capitals and numbers as digits, added as people speak. • When a different person starts speaking, a new paragraph usually begins. • Large type you can resize, and four typefaces, two of them designed for low vision (Atkinson Hyperlegible). • Light and dark mode.
PRIVATE, FOR REAL • Everything happens on your iPhone or Mac. No audio or text is sent anywhere. • After a one-time language download, it works offline, in Airplane Mode too. • No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Free.
MORE THAN LIVE • Make subtitles for a video or recording you already have: duna writes an .srt file on the device. • Export the transcript as text, Markdown or .srt subtitles. • Shortcuts actions, and a Control Center button on iPhone.
LANGUAGES • English, Spanish, Catalan, Galician and Basque. Galician and Basque are the newest and make more mistakes. • The app stays small: pick a language and download it once (120–190 MB). • The app itself speaks all five languages.
duna is an automatic transcription and can make mistakes. It is not a hearing aid and does not replace professional captioning.
