About

EV Charger Calc is the on-site calculator for electricians who install Level 2 EV chargers. Check the panel, size the circuit, confirm the voltage drop and conduit fill, then turn the job into a clean PDF quote for your customer.

FOUR CALCULATORS, ONE JOB • Panel load — NEC 220.82 optional method for dwellings. See the total load, amps, percent of service, spare capacity, and what the charger adds. Over-capacity results show your options, including a managed (load-managed) charger. • Breaker & wire — 125% continuous load, the next standard breaker, copper or aluminum conductor at 60 °C or 75 °C terminals, and the equipment grounding conductor. Plug-in chargers get the receptacle type and GFCI note for the code edition you pick. • Voltage drop — drop in volts and percent, voltage at the charger, the longest run for your target, and a size-by-size comparison with a chart. • Conduit fill — fill percent for EMT, PVC, RMC, IMC and flexible conduit, the smallest size that fits, and a cross-section view.

SHOW YOUR WORK Every result lists the formula, the inputs and the code section it follows, so you can explain the numbers to a customer or an inspector. Choose NEC 2023, 2020 or 2017. Work in imperial or metric.

JOBS AND QUOTES Save each install as a job with the customer, site and charger details. Results flow into the quote: materials from your price list, labor, permit fee and tax. Mark quotes as quoted or won and keep track of every job.
