Flipcorder turns your iPhone into a 1991 camcorder. Everything you film today lands on today's dated tape. Tonight, play it back like an old home video, then save it to Photos and share it.
SNAPS, NOT FOOTAGE Press the big red key and you're recording. Each snap stops by itself at 20 seconds and is saved, with a calm countdown in the viewfinder: no beeps, no rush. Want a longer take? Set Snap length to No limit in the camcorder's settings.
A 30-MINUTE TAPE EVERY DAY Like a real camcorder cassette, each day's tape holds 30 minutes, and the camcorder shows how much is left. When today's tape is full, recording stops and saves, and a fresh tape loads at midnight. A snap that runs into the end of the tape is cut short and saved, never lost.
GENTLE REMINDERS, IF YOU WANT THEM Reminders stay off unless you turn them on. Then you can have an afternoon check-in if today's tape is still blank, and an evening note when today's tape is ready to play. No streaks and no counting days. They're set up on your phone, with no account.
WIDGETS You can add today's tape to your Home Screen as a cassette, in small, medium and large, with a snap from today showing through its window. Tap it and the camcorder opens ready to film, or today's tape starts playing. Lock Screen widgets show the count and your latest snap. They read only a copy kept on your phone, and "Show snaps in widgets" in the settings switches the pictures off.
MADE FOR IPHONE DUO On iPhone Duo, the fold is the power switch. Open it and the viewfinder warms up like an old TV. Open it all the way and the person you're filming sees themselves on the outside screen, in the same retro look, with a REC light so they know when to wave. Close it and your snap is saved before it powers down.
On every other iPhone, a glowing POWER key does the same job.
TWO LOOKS VHS, with bleeding colour, tracking wobble and a date stamp, or crisp MiniDV. Switch a tape's look any time.
SAVE AND SHARE Save the whole tape to Photos as one movie that opens on a title card, in the camcorder look or as the clean HD original. Then share it straight from the camcorder.
