About

the companion Teenage Engineering never made for the original OP-1.

plug the OP-1 into your iPhone with one USB cable and press play on the machine. the app follows its transport to the sample. there is nothing to pair or set up, and no clock to adjust: the cable carries everything.

FOUR TRACKS THERE, TEN MORE HERE the OP-1's tape keeps its four. the app runs up to ten synced tracks beside them, with per-track gain, meters and a timeline drawn in bars. four plus ten is the name.

EVERYTHING YOU PLAY IS KEPT whenever the tape rolls, a take lands in sessions by itself, on the bar, with every key and knob you touched recorded alongside it. you never arm anything.

YOUR TAPE, OFF THE MACHINE in disk mode the app pulls the OP-1's tape and patches, keeps them in records you can name and revisit, verifies every write, and puts them back when you want the machine clean.

MIX IT DOWN print a master, or stems that line up in any DAW.

OPEN IT ON A COMPUTER switch on the local server and any browser on the same WiFi opens your takes, records and sounds. play them there or download them. the phone serves them itself, so there is no account to create and nothing to install on the computer.

IT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE the app has no accounts, no analytics and makes no network calls. the audio that comes in over the cable is stored on the phone and nowhere else.

WHAT YOU NEED an original OP-1 (the app is built for it, not for the OP-1 field), a USB cable, and an iPhone. the microphone permission is how iOS lets an app hear the OP-1's USB audio. nothing records until the tape rolls.
