GlassAlert is a UK-based app that helps you stay aware of smart glasses with built-in cameras when they're nearby.

Camera-equipped smart glasses look just like ordinary glasses, which makes it hard to know if someone nearby could be recording. GlassAlert uses Bluetooth to detect the wireless signal these devices broadcast, then gives you a simple, clear alert: all clear, or smart glasses detected nearby.

HOW IT WORKS GlassAlert scans for Bluetooth signals from known smart glasses hardware. When a match is found, you'll see an on-screen alert and get a notification, along with a rough estimate of how close the device is.

ONE-TIME PAYMENT, NO SUBSCRIPTION GlassAlert is a one-time purchase of £0.99 — no subscription, no recurring fees, no in-app purchases. The app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All scanning happens locally on your device. There are no accounts, no ads, and no analytics.

WHAT THIS APP DOES NOT DO GlassAlert detects the presence of smart glasses hardware via Bluetooth. It cannot detect whether a device is actively recording, and it can only detect glasses that are broadcasting a discoverable Bluetooth signal (for example, glasses already connected to their owner's phone may not be detected). This app is a presence-awareness tool, not a guarantee against being recorded.
