About
A walk home, a table full of friends, the light through a window. Give the little things a place on your daily roll.
GrainRoll brings the charm of a pocket digicam to spontaneous everyday photos. Open the camera, move your device, then hold it steady for about two seconds. The photo is taken automatically. With no shutter button or live preview, you discover the frame as it develops.
24 chances to notice your day • Up to 24 photos each day: a reason to pause and choose a moment. • Rear-camera capture keeps the focus on the world in front of you. • View each result in the app and save the photos you want to keep to Photos.
A little grain, a little surprise Date stamps, grain, light leaks and soft color give everyday scenes a nostalgic feel. Random cool, warm and blended tones, with possible vignettes, make each frame its own. Double exposures combine two successive rear-camera shots; some single shots gain an artistic ghost image. The look is created as you shoot, without a filter menu to work through.
Photos are intentionally 640×480: a textured, low-resolution look inspired by early digital cameras.
More ways to keep your roll • Revisit today's photos and earlier rolls, organized by date. • Turn any roll with photos into a silent slideshow video, even before it reaches 24 shots. • Save the video to Photos and keep those small moments together.
Details that make it yours A hand-drawn camera and warm gold accents give GrainRoll a playful feel. Choose from 14 interface languages, or let the app follow your device language.
No account, ads, subscriptions or usage analytics. Photos stay on your device; the app does not upload them to a cloud service. Export anything you want to keep before uninstalling, as unexported local content will be deleted.
