About
Read the ingredients list. Get an answer.
Halal Scanner Pro photographs the ingredients printed on a product's packaging, reads it on your device, and tells you whether what's in the pack looks halal, haram, or deserves a closer look.
HOW IT WORKS • Take one photo of the ingredients list • The text is read on your phone, using its built-in text recognition • Each ingredient is matched against the rulebase and given a verdict • Tap anything flagged to see exactly why
ENTIRELY OFFLINE There is no server, no barcode lookup and no account. Your photos are processed on your phone and never leave it. The app works on a plane, in a basement, or abroad with data switched off — because it never needed a connection in the first place.
THREE VERDICTS, NOT TWO Ingredients are not always a yes or a no. Alongside halal and haram, the app flags Caution: ingredients whose status depends on the source, the process, or which scholarly opinion you follow. Caution never means haram. It means there is more to find out.
SHOWS ITS WORKING Every flagged ingredient opens into the reason it was flagged, the scholarly context, the category it falls under, and numbered source references. Ingredients that merely invite the question — "chocolate liquor", for instance — carry a magnifier you can tap.
PRIVACY No account. No ads. No subscription. No analytics. No network requests of any kind.
IMPORTANT This app reads printed ingredient text and applies documented rules. It is a guidance tool, not a certification. Packaging can be incomplete, print can be misread, and sourcing can change without notice. Verify with the manufacturer where it matters, and consult a qualified scholar on questions of religious ruling. Never change prescribed medical, surgical, emergency or allergy treatment on the basis of an app result.
