About

Be king for 10 years. Feed your people. Keep your crown.

You get 100 people, 1,000 acres and a barn full of grain. Each year you make three choices: how much land to buy or sell, how much to feed your people, and how much to plant. Then you watch what happens.

A CITY YOU CAN WATCH Every number is something on screen. Houses for people, plots for land, sacks for grain. A good harvest makes the crowd cheer. Rats run at the barn. People you starve leave as ghosts, and their graves stay.

A STORY WITH CHOICES Traders, a flood, a greedy king next door, a woman who reads the stars. Ten events between harvests, two choices each. Play on easy, normal or hard.

THREE WAYS TO PLAY A new game has the story. Classic is the 1968 game with nothing added. Today's game gives everyone the same luck for one day, so you can compare grades with friends.

WATCH THE ROBOT A robot king plays a whole game while you watch. It earns an A+ most of the time. Beat it.

MADE WITH CARE Pixel art, music and sound made for this game. Your game is saved every year. It works with no internet. No ads, no accounts, and nothing is collected.

THE 1968 CLASSIC Hamurabi was written by Doug Dyment in 1968 and spread through David Ahl's book 101 BASIC Computer Games. The rules here are those rules. The art, the music, the story and the code are new.
