HOW IT WORKS • Tap play, hear one word, choose which of two words you heard. • Instant feedback. Got it wrong? Replay both words back to back. • Four natural US voices so you learn the sound, not one speaker. • Sessions of 10, 20 or 30 words. A 20-word session takes about a minute.
BUILT ON HOW ENGLISH SOUNDS • Minimal pairs: words that differ by exactly one sound, commonly used in pronunciation training. • IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) for every word. • 43 challenging sound pairs across 900+ word pairs: ship/sheep, bat/bet, think/sink, light/right, vest/west, pen/pain, cap/cup, plus endings like bag/back, walk/walked and thirteen/thirty. • After every answer, both words show their IPA with the sound that differs highlighted, so you learn the symbols as you go.
SEE REAL PROGRESS • Ear Score: the % of words you hear correctly, based on your recent answers across all sound pairs, updated after every session. • Adaptive practice focuses on the sound pairs you miss most. Sessions start easy and get harder as your ear improves. • Mastery per sound pair, streaks and XP levels. • Share your Ear Score card with friends.
