Hindcast Weather

Hindcast is a weather app that tells you how sure the forecast is, not just what it says.

Open it and you get one plain sentence, the temperature, and three tally marks for confidence: how steady the next hours look. Tap them for the reason in words. A small chip says whether today is warmer or cooler than usual for the date. Everything below that is one tap deeper, never all at once.

WHY Plain reasons behind the number: whether the question is if it rains or when, with the chances laid out hour by hour.

HOUR AND DAY Tap any hour or day for its temperature, rain chance and amount, wind, UV, cloud cover, sunrise, sunset, golden hour and moon.

UNITS Temperature, wind and rain follow your device's region: °F, mph and inches in the US, °C, km/h and mm elsewhere.

PLACES Search for a place by name, save as many as you like, and see your current location. Times always read in the place's own time zone.

Hindcast Pro is an optional yearly subscription that adds: - The Almanac: every value, dense, on ink, including dew point, pressure and gusts, in tables for 24 hours and 10 days, plus a layer map across a 25-point grid you can touch, scrub and play. - Notifications: rain 15, 30 or 60 minutes ahead, changes to today's or tomorrow's forecast, golden hour and blue hour (skipped when grey or wet), and an optional morning brief. Planned on your device, checked a few times a day when it allows. - Report card: how each day's forecast held up, from a record kept on your device.
