In short

hmstr - Pantry Tracker helps households see what food they have and where it is stored, across the fridge, freezer, pantry or cellar. Lists can be shared via iCloud with household members, who can be given edit or view-only rights. One standout detail is that barcode scans pull product details from the free Open Food Facts database, and that lookup can be turned off.

About

Do you know what's in the cellar? hmstr does.

hmstr shows you what's at home and where: in the fridge, the freezer, the pantry or the cellar. Share the overview with everyone in your household and stop buying things twice.

EVERYTHING IN ITS PLACE • Storage locations and categories that match your home, fully customisable • Quantities with units: pieces, grams, kilos, millilitres, litres, packs • Sorted by storage location or category, with quick search • Several lists, for example for your flat and your holiday home

SCAN THE BARCODE, DONE Point the camera at the barcode. Name, brand and photo come from the free Open Food Facts database, you just add the quantity. No barcode? Type in the code or add the item by hand.

ONE PERSON SHOPS, EVERYONE SEES IT Invite your household to a list via iCloud. Everyone sees the same stock, and you decide who can make changes and who can only look. You don't need a separate hmstr account.

KNOW BEFORE YOU RUN LOW • A minimum stock per item: hmstr lets you know when something runs low • Expiry dates, with a heads-up on what expires soon • Notifications when someone in your household adds, removes or uses up an item • At a glance: expired, expiring soon, running low, out of stock

YOUR SUPPLIES ARE NOBODY ELSE'S BUSINESS • Your lists live in your iCloud account • No ads, no trackers, no analytics • Scanned barcodes only go to Open Food Facts, and you can turn that off • To notify your household, the app sends the name and quantity of the changed item to our notification server

With dark mode, in English and German.

To share, everyone in the household needs an iPhone with hmstr and an iCloud account.
