Convert a picture from a website or a local file without sending it to an online conversion service. ImageCaptain is a Safari image converter for Mac, iPhone and iPad. It gives you five practical output formats: JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP and TIFF.
On Mac, right-click a normal image on a webpage and choose a Save as format from the Safari menu. You can also open ImageCaptain from the Safari toolbar and pick an image on the page. On iPhone and iPad, open the extension and tap the image you want. If you already have a file, open it directly in the editor. Preview the chosen image, select the output format, convert, then save or share the result where your device supports it.
Choose PNG when you need lossless detail or transparency, JPEG for broad compatibility and smaller photographic files, WebP for a web-friendly format, BMP for simple bitmap workflows, or TIFF for applications that require it. JPEG and BMP use a white background where the original image is transparent. Animated sources export one frame.
Conversion takes place on your device. ImageCaptain has no account, subscription, in-app purchase, advertising SDK or conversion upload. If the source is a web image, the extension may ask permission for its image host and fetch the selected file directly from that host without cookies or a referrer. It does not scan your browsing automatically.
The current version accepts inputs up to 20 MB and 8 megapixels. Some protected, inaccessible or unusual image URLs may not load. Save or share only images you are permitted to use. ImageCaptain is a one-time paid download for a focused Safari image workflow.
