About

Moving to Japan means two problems at once: a pile of paperwork with deadlines you cannot see, and a language you will need on the day you land. Ittekimasu handles both.

A CHECKLIST WITH DATES ON IT

Pick your visa route and your target move date, and the checklist builds itself — visa paperwork, housing, banking, the ward office run, the things nobody warns you about. Every task carries its own date, counted forward or back from the day you arrive, so you always know what is next rather than what exists.

The checklist keeps going past your arrival. Registering your address, opening a bank account, the phone contract — they are already on the list, waiting.

THE JAPANESE YOU WILL ACTUALLY USE

Kana first, because that is the real wall. Both syllabaries are a chart you tap through and hear, 104 characters each — a reference, not a deck, so reading it costs you nothing and needs no connection.

Then vocabulary, scheduled by spaced repetition. The front of a card is the word as written; the back is the reading and the meaning, so you recall how to say it and not only what it means. Cannot read kana yet? Readings start in romaji — a card reads "otoko - man" rather than "おとこ - man" — and one switch in Settings turns romaji off everywhere the day you would rather be tested.

The Ward Office deck is the differentiator: the vocabulary of registering your address, enrolling in health insurance and opening a bank account. Fifty-five cards you will not find grouped this way in a textbook.

A SESSION THAT DECIDES ITSELF

Open a deck and today is already worked out: everything due comes back first, then at most ten cards you have never met. Clear it and the deck tells you the day it returns rather than pretending to be finished. The silence between sessions is the method, not a gap in it.

Every answer shows you exactly when the card comes back, so honest self-rating costs you nothing. Tapped the wrong button? One step of undo, no confirmation dialog.
