Why we expect it: A clever beat-synced lane mechanic with a memorable rotating-tube twist, though its tiny tagline, lack of ratings and single language temper the early outlook.

About

Four lanes. One tube. Everything on the beat.

LaneLume is an endless runner inside a glowing neon tube. When you switch lanes, your ball doesn't roll sideways. The tube turns around you. It feels odd for a few seconds, and after that you won't want it any other way.

HOW TO PLAY • Hold your finger on the bottom lane: the ball follows it. • Tap left, top or right: the tube instantly turns that lane to the bottom. • Switch exactly on the beat for bonus points. Every switch in time adds to it, up to ×8. Miss the beat by a lot and the streak is gone.

THE MUSIC SETS THE PACE Two original tracks play back to back. Every obstacle reaches you right on a beat, crystals land on the eighth notes, and even the countdown ticks in time. Quiet parts bring mostly crystals. When the drop hits, it gets crowded.

WHAT'S COMING AT YOU • Black cubes and full walls. Sometimes a lane switch is the only way past. • Spinning bars that turn with the beat, and half walls that swing back and forth. • Switch orbs: touch one and it pulls you onto the lane of its color (+75). Check what's waiting there first. • Forks: four orbs block the lane. Left sends you to one color, right to another, and one side often ends at a wall. • Crystals are worth 25 points. Grab them in quick succession and your combo climbs to ×5. • Scrape past a cube: +15. • Boost pads give +40 and a burst of speed. Brake pads slow you down for a moment, so obstacles come at you closer together.

POWER-UPS • Shield: a hit only costs you the shield. • Magnet: pulls crystals in for 6 seconds. • Ghost: fly through obstacles for 4 seconds. • Points ×2: everything counts double for 12 seconds.

COLOR SWAP On a track's drop, or after a minute at the latest, every lane color shifts one position over. Whatever you just memorized is wrong now. At full speed.

SHORT RUNS Each level lasts 20 seconds, with the time left shown at the top. The speed keeps climbing. On game over the last frame breaks apart into glitch stripes for a moment, and "Again" puts you back on the level you reached. After every run you see your crystals, longest beat streak, close calls and best combo. Your high score stays on your device.

LOOK AND FEEL • The tube bends and curves. Outside, stars and speed lines rush past faster than the tube itself. • Neon with bloom, and graphics quality adjusts to your device. Older devices can use safe mode. • Music and sound effects can be turned off separately. Lane switches, hits and pickups come with a short vibration.
