In short

Left to Spend: Budget Planner is a manual budget app built on the 50/30/20 rule, splitting take-home pay into needs, wants and savings. Users log purchases as they spend and see what remains in each bucket, with no bank connection and no account. It is aimed at people who want a simple, low-pressure way to track monthly spending on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch, and it stands out for importing purchases from receipts and statements with a review step before anything is added.

About

One number that matters: how much you have left to spend this month.

Left to Spend is a calm, manual budget built on the 50/30/20 rule — half your take-home pay for needs, 30% for wants, 20% for savings. Enter your pay once, add your regular bills if you like, and the split sets itself. Then just log what you spend. It takes seconds a day.

HOW IT WORKS

• Tell it your monthly take-home pay. • Add rent, utilities and other regular bills, or skip and use a plain 50/30/20 split. • Tap +, type the amount, Save. It remembers the bucket you used last. • After every save you see what's left: "$380 left in Wants".

NEVER STRESSFUL

• No red alerts and no warnings. Go over and it simply says "$12 over". It comes out of savings, and the savings bar shows how much. • Every bucket shows what's left, not just what's gone. • A gentle reminder to log now and then, which you can switch off.

EVERYTHING ELSE STAYS OUT OF THE WAY

• Each new month copies last month's setup. • Recurring bills log themselves on the day they're due. • Edit or delete any purchase in a tap. • Turn on categories and sub-categories, notes and dates, or rolling over unspent money only if you want them.

SHOPPING LISTS ON BUDGET

Plan a shop as a list in Needs or Wants, with a price and quantity for each item, and see what you'll have left this month after every one. Tick items off as you buy them, in the app or on your Apple Watch, and the list logs itself as one purchase.

IMPORT WITHOUT RETYPING

Bring in purchases from a photo of a receipt, a PDF or CSV bank statement, an Excel file or pasted text. Everything is read on your device. Duplicates are spotted for you, and nothing is added until you review the list and tap Accept.
