Live it UP answers one question about live music: can I actually get to this show?
Search an artist and see where they play next. Open a show and the app puts the pieces of the trip in one place - the cheapest fare it has cached for the three days before the show or the day itself, from the airport nearest you, the ticket price where the seller publishes one, how far the venue is from the airport you land at, and the whole thing converted into your own currency. No ticketing site computes that, because the flights and the shows come from different places; the app joins them.
WHAT IT DOES
- Find an artist and see the upcoming shows we know of, from arena tours to club nights. - Under each show: the flight where a fare is cached, the ticket where the seller publishes a price, and the distance you would still have to cover on the ground. - Shows near you, sorted by how far away they are. - Setlists from recent shows, so you know what a band has been playing. - Favourites kept on your device, with what each artist is doing next. - Ticket prices in your own money, or exactly as the seller charges them - your choice. Travel estimates come in your own currency, or in US dollars when we cannot convert it. - Share a show with whoever you would go with.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
Live it UP sells nothing. Tickets are sold by the venues and ticketing companies themselves, on their own sites; the app hands you over and takes no payment. There is no account, no sign-in and no password - your favourites and your settings live on your device.
A flight fare is an estimate: it is shown as "from" and it is cached rather than live. A ticket price is the seller's own published figure, not ours. Ground transfers are not priced at all: that leg shows the distance.
ABOUT YOUR LOCATION
The app asks for an approximate location, never a precise one and never in the background, to sort shows by distance and to work out the trip. You can decline it and pick your city by hand - the app works either way.
Sharing usage data is off until you turn it on. With it on, each ticket, flight or transfer link you open tells us which kind it was, which seller or travel programme it went through, the screen, the show and its country, and the hour - no account, no device id, no exact position.
Some links are affiliate links: if you book through one, Live it UP may earn a commission. It costs you nothing and it is what pays for the app.
