About

Lye math shouldn't live on a sticky note next to the scale. Lye & Wick turns every batch into a calm, checked, repeatable routine.

HOW IT WORKS Hold a bottle and pour your oils into the kettle — the pot fills layer by layer, and a tap fine-tunes any oil to the gram. Turn the superfat dial to how gentle you want the bar. It clicks at the classic marks and simply won't go below zero. Hold the wax seal. Every check runs at once: lye concentration, superfat, fragrance load, oils that barely saponify. Something off? The seal cracks and tells you exactly why. Take it to the bench. One big number at a time — water, lye, each oil, fragrance — swipe when it's on the scale, and move on with gloves still on.

WHY IT MATTERS You stop re-checking the math three times. You stop wondering if last month's bar used 5% or 7% superfat. You just make soap.

THE SEAL Nothing reaches the bench unsealed. Change one oil, one gram of water or the purity of your lye, and the seal breaks until you check it again. It's the calm pause every soap maker needs before opening the lye tub.

AN OIL SHELF THAT KNOWS ITS OILS Thirty oils and butters, from olive and coconut to shea, tallow and castor, each showing how hard, bubbly and caring it makes a bar. Add your own oils from the supplier's sheet, or replace a published value with the one on your certificate. Your recipe shows a live bar profile with the sweet spot shaded in.

CANDLES, TOO Measure your tin or jar with a sliding tape, drag the fill line where you want the wax to stop, and pick your wax. Lye & Wick works out the wax and fragrance for one vessel or a whole tray, the temperatures to add scent and pour, and a sensible wick to start testing with.

THE CURING RACK Every batch lands on a wooden rack where bars slowly turn matte as they cure. Gentle reminders tell you when to unmould and cut, nudge you to turn the bars each week, and let you know the day they're ready. Swipe a bar to log a turn.

A JOURNAL THAT REMEMBERS Every batch keeps its exact ledger. See six months of making at a glance, which oils you pour most, and brew a favourite again with one tap.

MADE FOR Home soap makers moving past their first recipe. Candle makers pouring for markets and gifts. Small shops that need every batch to match the last. Anyone who wants the numbers right before the goggles go on.

Pour, seal, weigh — and let the rack do the waiting.
