MassBuilder

By Oskar Ege · Health and fitnessWhy we expect it: The description is clear and specific, and the one-tap set logging and camera form check show real value.
In short
MassBuilder is a workout tracker for lifters that logs each set with one tap and plans the next weight to lift. It also includes a camera form check for eight lifts, a daily challenge alarm that needs push-ups, squats, burpees or pull-ups to stop, and charts of a year of training. One standout feature is the alarm, which keeps ringing every two minutes until the reps are done.

Build muscle one set at a time. Log every set with one tap, and MassBuilder plans your next weight, so the bar gets heavier when you're ready. Check your form with the camera. Set an alarm you can only stop by moving. Watch a year of training turn into charts. And let four judges have opinions about your leg day.
DAILY CHALLENGE - An alarm that rings like your Clock alarm and comes back every two minutes until you've done the reps: push-ups, squats, burpees or pull-ups. - The camera counts in real time and knows which way is down: push-ups against a wall don't count. - Pick how strict it judges, from Gentle to Very strict. - Want out? Hold Give up for five seconds. It costs a missed day, or an amount you pick in advance if you want more at stake. Ill or injured? Pause mode turns it off.
FORM CHECK - Stand your phone on the floor, side-on, and lift. The camera follows your joints and counts every rep, in eight lifts from squats and deadlifts to pull-ups. - After the set, each rep plays back next to the right movement for your build, with up to three things to work on. - A voice calls out each rep and a cue. If the camera can't see your knees, it says so instead of guessing. - See how your form changes, lift by lift.
ONE TAP PER SET - Your workout is a punch card. Tap a hole and the set is logged with reps, weight and time. Tap again if you got fewer reps. - The rest timer starts by itself, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island too. - Warm-up sets, a plate calculator for your gym's bar and plates, and your next weight planned for you: more when you hit your reps, a deload after three misses. - Log reps in the tank and notes for next time, if you want.
YOUR YEAR IN CHARTS - Today is a board you arrange yourself: top sets, effort, records, tonnage in elephants and blue whales, the muscles you trained, rep maxes and your year as punched holes. - Every lift has its own chart, with your best set and estimated 1RM. - Rate how hard each workout felt and see your load week by week. With Apple Watch, your heart rate too.
FUEL - Count protein, carbs and fat in grams, with daily targets from your goal weight and pace. - Your weight trend, and how much you burn, learned from what you eat and weigh.
APPLE WATCH - Log sets from your wrist: punch, rest, change the weight with the crown and see your heart rate. - Fuel on your wrist, with complications.
IPAD AND APPLE TV - Your iPad runs workouts, Fuel, the daily challenge and the form check, in sync with your iPhone, and spreads the board out in columns. - On Apple TV, your charts fill the room: pick a period, open any card, move the cards with the remote.
THE BENCH - Four judges react to how you train. The chicken guards leg day, the disco builder lives for a press, the T-rex jokes about his arms and the sloth notices when nothing happens. - Pick a tone: Kind, Honest or Brutal. Every Monday they hand down a verdict on your week. - They judge what you do, never how you look.
218 EXERCISES IN 3D - Every exercise is an animated figure you can turn with a finger, with the working muscles hatched and four cues.
PROGRAMS - Fifteen programs ready to go, from 5×5 to bodyweight at home. Answer six questions and MassBuilder finds the one that fits your days, time and gym. - Or build your own, with rep ranges and your own weight steps.
PLAY - Two games for the rest between sets, Run and Load. Both stop when your rest does.
