About

Mental Potential is a calm, guided breathing app. Pick an exercise, follow the moving guide with your eyes – or close them and follow the sound and gentle taps – and let your body settle.

NINE GUIDED EXERCISES • Calming breath (4-7-8) – for winding down and falling asleep. Also without the hold. • Box breathing (4-4-4-4) – focus and steady nerves. • Coherent breathing – six breaths a minute, from 2 to 15 minutes. • Long exhale – short in, long out, five to six breaths a minute. Three levels, 5 to 15 minutes. • Physiological sigh – quick relief when you feel tense. • Meditation – a silent timer with a soft bell, from 5 to 60 minutes. • Alternate nostril breathing, Tummo and Pineal breathing for advanced practice.

SEE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU After a session, note how your body feels. Over time, Stats shows which exercise calms you the most.

HEART RATE WITH APPLE WATCH With Apple Watch, your heart rate is measured through the whole session and saved to Health. Stats shows how much it drops from the start to the end of a session, and which exercise lowers it the most.

A WEEKLY SLOW-BREATHING GOAL Studies of slow breathing often use around 40 minutes a week. Stats counts your minutes of slow breathing over the last seven days.

ON YOUR WRIST The Apple Watch app guides the same exercises with gentle taps, so you can breathe with your arm down and your eyes closed.

MADE TO STAY OUT OF YOUR WAY • Free, with no ads and no account • Your sessions stay on your device; Apple Health is opt-in • Reminders on the days and at the times you choose • Home screen widget, Siri Shortcuts, and a Live Activity for meditation • Available in 16 languages

Mental Potential is not a medical device and does not diagnose or treat any condition. If you have a heart or lung condition or high blood pressure, or are pregnant, talk to your doctor before you start a breathing practice.
