About
Your beat. Your tempo.
The metronome from Notation is now a standalone app. Whether you are learning a piece slowly, building rhythmic confidence or exploring polyrhythms: set your pulse and focus on the music.
TEMPO AND METER, YOUR WAY Choose a tempo from 40 to 240 BPM or tap it in with Tap Tempo. Set the top and bottom numbers of the time signature separately. Accent, play or mute each beat.
SEE AND HEAR RHYTHMS Choose from 14 rhythm patterns with clear musical notation: from a basic pulse to eighth notes, triplets and sixteenth notes, including offbeats, dotted rhythms and rests.
EXPLORE POLYRHYTHMS Play two rhythms together, such as 3 against 2 or 4 against 3. Set each voice to 1–12 beats, with its own sound and volume.
MAKE STEADY PROGRESS The tempo trainer increases the tempo after a set number of bars until you reach your target. Silent bars help you keep the pulse yourself while the visual display continues.
YOUR SETTINGS, READY WHEN YOU ARE Save named favorites for pieces and exercises. Choose from five sounds and adjust the volume. Optionally keep the metronome playing with the screen locked or while using another app.
STAY FOCUSED ON MUSIC The app works offline, without an account, advertising or tracking. It does not use the microphone or make audio recordings. Settings and favorites are stored locally on your device.
