Minuet: Metronome & Tuner
Not claimedMinuet is where practice lives
By Mishmapps LLC · Music and audioWhy we expect it: Its focus on precise timing, plain-language tuning and practice tracking gives musicians a clear, well-described reason to try it.
About
Minuet is where practice lives. It starts with the two things you need on day one. A metronome with a real swinging arm over a tempo scale. Set it with the slider or a tap at a time, and it names the Italian marking as you go. The time signatures your pieces are actually written in, and subdivisions when you are ready for them. And a tuner that tells you what you need in plain words, with a clear in-tune glow.
Then it keeps up with you.
KEEP TIME Set a tempo and play. Loop the hard eight bars, let the tempo climb across repetitions, or drop the click for a bar and keep time on your own. Tempo, meter and marking stay where you can read them from the stand. The tempo and the ramp carry on to the Lock Screen, for when the phone is across the room. From 1 to 200 beats a minute, tick and tock two sounds apart, the way a wooden metronome's are.
A BEAT YOU CAN TRUST Every click is placed directly on the audio clock: 44,100 steps a second, the same grid CD audio is cut to. Each one is committed a fraction of a second before you hear it, and nothing else the phone is doing can move it after that. Measured drift is under half a millisecond an hour.
CHECK YOUR PITCH The tuner opens listening, so there is no mode to pick and nothing to set up. The note letter is the largest thing on the screen with the cents beneath it: hear it first, check it after. When you land it the needle centres, the note turns green, and it says so. Three signals at once, so there is never any doubt. Lock it to your instrument and it names the concert pitch too. Sound a drone and tune against that.
SEE IT ADD UP Keep the pieces you are working on, with the tempo and meter each one needs. Practice is recorded as you go: what you played, how long, the tempos you worked through. One piece gets thirteen weeks on a single chart, with your target drawn across it as a line to cross.
HEAR YOURSELF Record a take against the click or in silence. Then play the oldest take and today's straight through, and hear the distance between them. Nothing expires, and nothing is removed unless you remove it.
SHOW SOMEONE A Recital Card turns one piece's climb into an image worth sending: the two tempos, the span between them, the days you practised. You choose when it leaves the phone, and where it goes.
MAKE IT YOURS Skins are full stages for your practice, not colour swaps: Classic Walnut, Parisian Etude, Neon Arcade, and new ones as they are ready. Skins are optional in-app purchases, bought once and yours for good. No feature in Minuet is locked behind one.
WHAT MINUET WON'T DO No streaks. No badges. No scores. A missed day costs you nothing. No ads, no account and no sign-in. Your pieces, your practice and your recordings stay on the phone, and the metronome and tuner work with it offline.
Minuet is free. The skins are how it stays that way.
Start simple. Keep going.
