MusicDream: Hum to Sheet Music

MusicDream turns what you hear into music you can read, then helps you learn to play it. Hum a tune, sing it or play it, or bring in a file, and the app writes it down as notes, tab and sheet music. Then learn it step by step: play along and see, note by note, how close you are.

ALL ON YOUR PHONE Transcription and scoring run on the device. Nothing you hum, sing, play or import is uploaded. There is no account, no server and no sharing between users. Your songbook is yours.

HUM IT, SEE IT • Hum, sing or play into the mic and keep what you played as a song. Tap any note to nudge or delete it, and add suggested chords if you like. • Instrument mode listens to a piano, guitar or other instrument and picks out the melody line on top, even when you play chords underneath. • If what you played sounds like a classic from the songbook, the app tells you and opens it for you. • Import MIDI, MusicXML or an audio file, or paste guitar tab or ABC. Got a recording with a full band behind it — your own demo, or a free-to-use recording of a classic? The app can pull out the melody and the chords underneath. • Read every song in your songbook as staff notation, guitar tab, note letters, solfège or sargam.

SING OR PLAY ALONG, GET SCORED • Three play-along views of the same song: staff, tab and a rolling note lane. • Real-time pitch scoring as you sing or play, with a Tune meter that shows whether you are sharp or flat, and a short calibration for your microphone. • Echo mode: hear a phrase, sing or play it back, and see how close you came. • Duet: two players pass the phrase back and forth on one device. • Loop a few bars, slow the song down, and record a take to hear yourself.

LEARN THE NOTES, THEN PLAY THE SONG Short lessons on a keyboard and staff: find the notes, hear steps and skips, then sing or tap the answer back. Every lesson ends in a real phrase from the songbook, and a daily three-minute ear drill keeps it fresh.

SEE YOURSELF IMPROVE A practice streak, a chart of this week, and a skill graph that notices which intervals trip you up. Practice Next points you at the song that will move you forward. A daily practice reminder is optional.

A SONGBOOK OF CLASSICS More than 60 public-domain pieces, rated by difficulty and spread across levels, so beginners and confident players both find something to start on.

HONEST ABOUT ACCURACY Transcription runs entirely on your phone. It is very good on a clear single melody and less certain on dense recordings or noisy rooms, and you can always correct a note by hand.
