NEARCADE – Retro Arcade
Not claimedTwo iPhones
By Maciej Kobylanski · GamesWhy we expect it: A clever offline multiplayer concept with three polished retro games, strong privacy design, and a clear, compelling value proposition.
About
Two iPhones. Zero internet. The puck leaves your screen and lands on your friend’s.
NEARCADE is a pocket arcade of retro 16-bit games you play solo or with people right next to you. Phones connect directly to each other: no internet, no accounts, no server. On the bus, at the cabin, on a plane.
THREE GAMES • AIR HOCKEY: Take on the computer at three difficulty levels, or put two phones top to top and smash the puck from one screen to the other. • TANKS: Set your angle and power, read the wind, fire! Play the computer, or go 1v1 with two phones side by side in landscape as shells fly across to your rival’s screen. Each match picks one of four worlds: green hills, desert, snow, or the Moon, where low gravity sends shells flying. • SPRINT & LONG JUMP: Tap left-right as fast as you can over 100 meters, then nail your take-off at the long jump board without overstepping. Chase your records against the ghost of your best run, or race in a group of 2 to 8 phones: everyone runs on their own screen, a live mini-track shows the whole field and a shared scoreboard crowns the winner.
ALSO INSIDE • Your nickname and one of 8 pixel avatars • Stats, records and a head-to-head score with every friend, synced across your devices through your own iCloud • Original chiptune music, in sync on every phone in the match • Sound effects and haptics • Day, Night or Auto theme
PRIVATE BY DESIGN No ads. No in-app purchases. No accounts, no tracking, no analytics. We don’t collect any data. Only people nearby or on your Wi-Fi see your nickname and avatar, and only while your lobby is open or you’re playing together. Never in the background, never over the internet.
GOOD TO KNOW • Every player needs NEARCADE on their own iPhone. • To play together, turn on Wi-Fi. No network or internet needed. In Airplane Mode, just switch Wi-Fi back on. • Allow Local Network access when iOS asks, so the phones can find each other. • Solo modes work completely offline, even with Wi-Fi off.
