About

Learn how a mechanical watch comes apart—and goes back together.

Piece by Piece is an interactive 3D watchmaking trainer built around a manual-wind movement. Rotate the watch, zoom into the mechanism, choose virtual tools, and move components yourself.

13 SHORT LESSONS Begin by identifying the parts and learning their purpose. Then practice releasing stored power, removing the balance and escapement, dismantling the winding works and gear train, rebuilding the movement, and fitting the dial and hands.

LEARN BY DOING Use screwdrivers, tweezers and other virtual tools. Follow clear contact markers, choose the appropriate driver blade, lift parts clear, align them with their seats, and watch the balance run again.

HELP WHEN YOU NEED IT Each guided step explains why it matters. Open a detailed hint or skip a step when you need to move on. Guided, Practice and Assessment modes let you choose how much help you receive.

EXPLORE EVERY PART Browse the A–Z parts guide to see the same 3D watch components used in the lessons, learn what each part does, and understand where it belongs.

START ANYWHERE All lessons are available from the start. Progress saves after each completed step, and lessons completed in full receive a checkmark.

Works offline. No sign-in required. Progress stays on your device.

This simulation teaches part relationships and service sequences. It uses simplified geometry and interactions; it does not replace supervised practice with a real movement or certify repair skills.
