Posita turns your Apple Watch into a position instrument, on a boat or in the mountains. At a glance you see your coordinates, how accurate they are, your course and your speed. If you ever need to call for help, you read your position off your wrist while you talk, and Posita shows the right emergency number for the country you are in, even with no signal.

THE RIGHT NUMBER, EVEN OFFLINE Your Apple Watch works out the country offline, or at sea the nearest coast within 200 km, and shows the right numbers: 921 emergency numbers in 231 countries and territories, each checked against its official source. Off Italy that is VHF channel 16 and 1530 for the Coast Guard; in Switzerland 112 and Rega 1414. Posita never dials by itself: you tap the number and read out your coordinates. It also explains MAYDAY, PAN-PAN, SÉCURITÉ and SOS.

YOUR POSITION, THE WAY YOU NEED IT • Degrees and decimal minutes, as read out on VHF, or degrees-minutes-seconds and decimal degrees • Accuracy in meters and how recent the fix is; if the signal drops, Posita keeps your last reliable position • Heading (HDG) and course over ground (COG), clearly distinct; speed over ground (SOG) includes the current • Precise altitude from the barometer (GPS when no barometric reading is available), with its margin • The weather trend from your watch's barometer: improving, steady or worsening, with no network
