In short

Proteva is a password manager and file vault for Mac that keeps all data on the computer, with no account, iCloud, or network use. It lets you import logins pasted from notes, search and copy them, and store documents, photos, and videos in encrypted nested folders. It is built for one person on one Mac, and a forgotten master password cannot be recovered.

About

Proteva is a local password manager and file vault for Mac. It stays on this computer. There is no account, no iCloud, and no network.

Replace a messy Notes dump of logins. Paste or drop the text, review what was parsed, and import the rows you want. Search, edit, and copy usernames or passwords. The clipboard clears after 30 seconds if it still holds what you copied.

Keep files in the same vault. Import documents, photos, and video into nested folders. Proteva encrypts a copy. After a successful import you can delete the originals. Preview stays in the app. A decrypted file leaves only when you choose Save a copy.

A master password unlocks the vault. If you forget it, the vault cannot be recovered. Export an encrypted .vaultnotes backup and keep it somewhere safe. An unencrypted CSV export requires typing "I understand."

Proteva is built for one person on one Mac who wants the data local.

Requires macOS 14 or later.
