By Luis Diaz-Faes · Music and audioWhy we expect it: The whole-screen instrument idea is clear and inventive, and the description explains its value with real care.
About
PULGAR is a pocket synthesizer: the whole screen is the instrument.
Put a finger down and it sounds. Pitch runs along the screen, snapped to the scale you choose; timbre runs across it. Several fingers give you chords. With no scale, it glides like a theremin.
WHAT YOU PLAY STAYS Press RECORD, play, and the phrase comes back as a loop. Add another layer with another sound: up to eight. Each layer has its own level, echo and room, and you can delete any of them. The loop saves itself.
SIX SOUNDS CRISTAL, SIERRA, CAÑA, PLIEGUE, CORO and SOPLO: synthesized, no samples, each with a timbre that moves with your finger.
SURROUND ON HEADPHONES Each layer sits in its own place around your head, and what you play sounds in front, on the side of your finger. With headphones that track head movement, the sound stays put when you turn.
FOR IPHONE, IPHONE DUO AND IPAD On iPhone, the world fills the screen with a dock that hides away. With iPhone Duo open, or on an iPad, every control is in view.
