Quaxel is a tiny studio for pixel-art worlds that move to music. Draw a sprite, write the soundtrack and build a living scene where the waves break on the beat, all in one app and one project file.
PIXEL • Draw pixel by pixel with Apple Pencil, with hover preview and double-tap or squeeze to switch tools • Pencil, eraser, fill, eyedropper, mirror and flip • Four directions per sprite (right, front, left, back) or a single view • Animation clips per direction: idle, walk, anything you name, with onion skin and adjustable FPS • Palettes with named color groups, and color sheets to recolor a whole sprite at once
SOUND • A layered song with drums, bass, pads, rhodes, sanshin plucks, vinyl and surf • Every instrument is editable: oscillators, filters, envelopes, FM and plucked strings • Step sequencer for drums and a piano roll for melodies • A lo-fi master bus for that warm, dusty sound
SCENE • Stack layers: gradient bands, regions, moving crests, particles, wandering sprites, sun flares and color grades • Loops tie any property to the beat, so foam rolls in and glints sparkle in time with the song • Start from the Beach recipe, or build any world from scratch
RENDER • Play your scene full screen with its soundtrack • Export a 1080×1920 MP4 with audio, ready to share (Quaxel Pro)
