recall is a diary for your Mac that quietly notices.
Write a few lines in the morning, or whenever a thought comes up. recall keeps each note as plain Markdown in a folder you own, and it works with everything you've written before: bring your notes from Obsidian or any folder of Markdown files.
WHILE YOU WRITE Past entries that echo the paragraph you're on appear quietly in the margin, and only when the match is close. Most days the margin stays empty. That's by design.
THE RIVER OF DAYS Your diary as a timeline, one bar a day by how much you wrote. Click a day to read or edit it. Long pauses fold away, so the river starts where your diary does.
PATTERNS Themes that keep coming back across your whole diary, named with your own words: how often they came up, when, and the moments themselves. Rename them, snooze them, or hide them. recall counts; it never interprets, advises or labels you.
FIND ANYTHING Press ⌘K and type a date ("25 Sep", "yesterday") or a phrase. recall finds entries close in meaning, in English and Russian.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Everything runs on your Mac, including the small language model. Your writing never leaves it. • No account, no cloud of ours, no tracking. Data not collected. • Your notes stay plain Markdown files in iCloud Drive or a folder you choose, readable by any editor, forever. • ⌘L frosts the window when someone walks up.
CAPTURE FROM YOUR PHONE A simple Apple Shortcut saves a thought straight into your diary; it appears on your Mac in seconds.
A QUIET APP No streaks, no badges, no notifications, no chat. recall doesn't talk to you about your life. It shows you your own words, when they matter.
recall is a journaling tool, not a medical or therapy service. If you're going through something hard, findahelpline.com lists free, confidential support.
