In short

Rista: Runes & Ogham writes English or German text in runes or Ogham, spelling each word the way it sounds rather than the way it is written. Its four scripts show each glyph's Unicode name, sound and sources, with alternatives where history offers them. It is aimed at people who want to design runic text for laser engraving, 3D printing, embroidery or stencils, and it exports SVG, PDF or PNG at real millimeter sizes.

About

Rista writes your text in runes the way it sounds, not the way it is spelled. "Christian" starts with the rune for k, because the "Ch" is pronounced like a k.

SCRIPTS • Elder Futhark • Younger Futhark (long-branch) • Anglo-Saxon Futhorc • Ogham with Forfeda

Type in English or German and the result appears live, with the phonetic transcription underneath. Every script has its own color scheme.

EVERY GLYPH EXPLAINED Tap a glyph to see its Unicode name, its sound, the reasoning and the source. Where history offers more than one option, Rista shows the alternatives. One tap swaps the glyph.

FOR MAKERS Export as SVG, PDF or PNG in real millimeters, as outline or fill. Made for laser engraving, 3D printing, embroidery or a tattoo stencil. Ring mode checks from the inner diameter whether your text fits around the ring.

HONEST LIMITS Characters without a match show up in gray and are never silently dropped. Numbers are spelled out, with a notice.

SOURCES Sound values are based on Michael P. Barnes, "Runes. A Handbook" (2012), R. I. Page, "An Introduction to English Runes" (1999), and Damian McManus, "A Guide to Ogam" (1991). All explanations are written from scratch.
