rotblock: unlock your brain
Not claimedDoomscrolling is easy
By WMB GmbH · ProductivityWhy we expect it: Turning doomscrolling into a learning habit is a clear, appealing idea, backed by a detailed description and a broad range of challenges.
About
Doomscrolling is easy. rotblock makes it cost a thought.
Pick the apps and websites that steal your time. When you try to open one, rotblock steps in: solve a short learning challenge and the app unlocks for the minutes you chose. Then it locks again. You still get your apps, you just earn them, and you learn something every time.
HOW IT WORKS • Choose apps and sites with Apple's Screen Time picker • Set a rule per app: which challenge, how many questions, how many minutes • Open a locked app, solve, get your time • Emergency unlock when you really need it (with a short wait)
CHALLENGES THAT TEACH • Math that adapts to your level • Flashcards: answer by typing, by voice or by handwriting • Reading comprehension with short passages • Chess puzzles and a learning path • Languages: Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Chinese, including writing Arabic letters and Chinese characters by hand • Coding: concepts plus Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C, C++, Go, Rust and ARM64 • Physics and history
A BRAIN THAT GROWS WITH YOU Every solved challenge feeds your pixel-art brain. It evolves from a tiny mush into a gym brain and keeps going, with crowns, auras and looks from the Brain Shop and free gift packs.
RULES THAT STICK • Daily open limits per app • Timer mode: wait it out instead of solving • Study hours and a nightly wind-down schedule • Priming: a short breathing, gratitude and intention routine before you scroll • Block adult websites with Apple's content filter • A guide to turning on grayscale
TRACK YOUR PROGRESS Take the Quick check or the Full test and watch your estimated IQ, speed, memory and reasoning change over time. The IQ score is an estimate for tracking your own progress. It is not a clinical or diagnostic IQ assessment.
FRIENDS (PRO) Add friends with a code or QR, compare streaks, duel on challenges and trade brain cosmetics.
AI TUTOR Pick any topic and get a course researched and taught step by step, with readings, flashcards and practice. One-time €29 add-on, requires Pro.
WIDGETS Your brain, your streak, your level and your locked apps on the Home Screen. Tap to practice.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The apps you lock stay on your device. rotblock only gets anonymous tokens from Screen Time and never learns which apps they are. • No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics. • Handwriting is read on your device. Voice answers use on-device speech recognition where your iPhone supports it. • An account is optional (Sign in with Apple) and only needed for the leaderboard, friends and cloud backup.
ROTBLOCK PRO Free: app and website blocking, math, flashcards (one custom deck plus the starter decks) and reading, and your first IQ test. Pro unlocks every challenge type, unlimited decks, schedules, priming and IQ retests. Try Pro free for 7 days, then €99 per year or €29 per month (prices may vary by country). Payment is charged to your Apple Account when the trial ends. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time in your Apple Account settings.
