About

RYRY is a native macOS program for RTTY, the radioteletype mode loved by ham radio contesters and DXers. It connects to your transceiver through the sound card and decodes and sends RTTY with the demodulator of MMTTY by JE3HHT – the reference RTTY program – rewritten for the Mac.

RECEIVE • The MMTTY demodulator (IIR, FIR, PLL and FFT), AFC, ATC, squelch, notch and LMS filters • Spectrum and waterfall – click to tune, right-click to notch interference • A second decoder and multi-channel decoding of several signals at once • Click a word in the received text to put the call, report or number into the QSO

TRANSMIT • AFSK through the sound card or FSK (keying through a USB serial port) • PTT by RTS/DTR or CAT • 16 macros with MMTTY variables, macro sets for normal operating, DX and every contest, saved messages and a TX window

CONTESTS • Presets for 28 RTTY contests (CQ WW, CQ WPX, ARRL Roundup, WAE, URC, Russian WW, BARTG, SARTG, NAQP, OK DX and more) with exchange, scoring and multiplier rules • Enter Sends Message (Run and S&P), serial numbers, dupe check, Super Check Partial and call history • Score and multipliers per band, WAE QTC, Cabrillo export

BAND MAP AND SPOTS • DX cluster and Reverse Beacon Network with band and mode filters • Band map with spots and your rig position, spots as labels in the waterfall • Alerts for your call in the received text, needed stations and new countries

LOG • A log that any logger can read (ADIF), import from other programs and from Windows MMTTY • QRZ.com and HamQTH callbook lookup, DXCC country, beam heading and distance • Upload to eQSL and Club Log; LoTW through TrustedQSL

RADIO CONTROL • Built-in CAT for Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood and Elecraft over USB • hamlib rigctld and flrig over the network

FOR YOUR LOGGER • RYRY answers like fldigi (XML-RPC), so loggers such as RUMlogNG or MacLoggerDX can drive it • A JSON-RPC WebSocket API with live events for your own tools

TRY IT WITHOUT A RADIO Choose Help → Play Demo Signal and watch RYRY decode a contest QSO.

RYRY is free and open source under the GNU LGPL v3, based on MMTTY by Makoto Mori (JE3HHT). Source code: https://github.com/ok1xoe/RYRY

An amateur radio licence is required to transmit.
