About
Learn to read music one note at a time.
Sight-Reading Adventure strips sheet music down to the essentials, so beginners can focus on the first skill that matters: looking at a note and knowing what it is.
Each exercise starts with just one or two staff lines instead of five. There are no clefs, time signatures, key signatures or bar lines to decode, only large, clear notes. Once those positions feel natural, the next note is added.
WHAT'S INSIDE • 10 step-by-step exercises with 20 lines each, 200 lines of practice in all • Part 1, treble clef (right hand): from Do-Re-Mi up to Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol, starting at middle C • Part 2, bass clef (left hand): from Do-Si-La down to Do-Si-La-Sol-Fa, starting at middle C • Jumps of a 4th once step-by-step reading is comfortable • Color-coded lines: red for the right hand, blue for the left
HEAR EVERY LINE Tap the play button beside any line to hear it played on a grand piano, with each note sung by name (Do, Re, Mi…) at the same time. Each note lights up as it plays, linking what you see, what you hear and the note's name. Set the tempo anywhere from 40 to 120 beats per minute in Settings.
SIMPLE AND PRIVATE • No ads, no accounts, no in-app purchases • No data collected • Works offline • Designed for iPad, also runs on iPhone
Adapted from the sight-reading book we wrote for our own piano studio, where it is used in lessons.
